we decided to rescue the day from bad directions, frustrating parents, and hot weather...

emmy and i went to the Tomato Pie Cafe, near North Park, and had a luscious meal, followed by a trip to see the geese and ducks at Marshall Island in the park...

the sweltering heat wilted us, so we stopped up at brusters for some ice cream. i brought lactaid to help fend off the inevitable intestinal yuckiness, but it didn't work as well as i'd hoped (little did i know at the time).

then we headed back down to the theater for some Harry Potter action. it was good, considering that i haven't read any of the books, or seen the first movie and only part of the second. now before you post a comment telling me how lame i am, let it be known that i will borrow the books soon and catch up with all you cool(er) people. so there.
