i watched a train go by shortly after i took this photo. it was one of those flatbed trains with doubled-up trailers being shipped off to someplace where they'll be attached to cabs and set loose upon our roadways. but while they're perched rather precariously on trains, they make a lot of wind at high speed. so this small flock of sparrows (or something small like that) came flying overhead towards the river. the turbulence created by the passing train was too much for some of the birds, who got sucked into the gaps between the containers. a few birds were strong or lucky enough to escape rather unharmed, but surely a few perished.
it made me very sad.
