the first group of christmas cactuses, the salmon and light pink ones, have bloomed, and now it's time for the fuchsia ones!

they're busting out in style, 'cause they know that soon enough, they'll be on their way outside to spend the summer.

i'm glad it was only partly cloudy today, rather than overcast and rainy, as it has been for days on end. it gives the lilacs (and everything else) a chance to soak up some direct sunlight. leaves and flowers just seem to look better bathed in sunlight anyway!

the lilac bushes are on their way to bursting out in the bunches of lavender, purple, and white flowers that i love so much. but i love the heavenly scent even more! it's my favorite time of year when the lilacs are in full bloom.

i'm not sure exactly what kind of tulip this one is, but it sure has some crazy leaves!
